This guide relates to page level restrictions, NOT space level restrictions as the latter can only be assigned by an administrator. Space level restrictions will prevent you from accessing or seeing anything in a space.

Page level restrictions are cascading. That means if you apply it to a page that has sub-pages (children) and sub-subpages (grandchildren) the restrictions will flow onto the children and grandchildren.

There are two questions that need to be asked when adding persons to restricted pages:

  • Do you have permission to add restrictions? If the options mentioned below are not showing for you then chances are you don't. Contact Michelle Fadelli for the necessary permissions.
  • Does the page have restrictions?

Click on the three dots on the right hand side of the page then go to restrictions

On the pop up window that will appear click on the drop down arrow to get the three restriction options for the page

1) No restrictions - means everyone van view and edit the page

2) Editing restriction - Means only those you give permission can edit the page, however everyone can view the page

3) Viewing and editing restriction - means only those you have given rights can view and edit the page.

To give people permission to edit and view the pages

start typing the name of the person, select the permission you want them to have (either can view or can view and edit) and click add

Click on Apply

Removing restrictions

  1. Click 'Remove restrictions' next to the person(s) you want to remove restrictions from
